She will also be sadly missed by her loyal and beloved, four legged walking buddy, her yellow Labrador retriever, Morley. To those who knew Jodine, she was a wonder and a true source of inspiration. Her curiosity and passion for learning was evident throughout her life. She lived every day with intention and purpose, setting goals and achieving them with grit and perseverance. Whether completing an 800 km Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in Spain, running a marathon, or battling cancer, she faced all challenges with courage, determination and resilience. Jodine will be remembered forever for her compassion and empathy. She willingly gave of her time, demonstrated by her volunteerism, advocacy and charity work. The same passion Jodine had for learning, she ignited in her students and with those she worked alongside. Madame Jodine, as she was fondly known, will be greatly missed by the students and staff from the Fort McMurray Public School District, especially those from Ecole Dickinsfield School and Christina Gordon Public School. Her legacy will live on, as she was influential with her “children first” philosophy, her leadership initiatives, and her relentless commitment to her school communities. The outpouring of love from her colleagues and the families/students she served, is a true testament to how much she was respected and cherished. Epitomizing the words of the Dickinsfield Flyers, “Ensemble nous volons toujours plus haut. Together we fly higher.” A sincere appreciation is extended for the care shown to Jodine by the staff at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. A special note of thanks is extended to Dr. Stephen Yam for his exemplary professionalism and compassionate care shown to Jodine over the last few months. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
