Obituary of Raymond William Nicolle SR

Raymond William Nicolle SR passed away peacefully in Fort mcmurray, AB on December 25th, 2018 at the age of 85. Ray is predeceased in death by his parents, William and Philomene, special family friend Big Ray, infant brother and younger brother Bill, brother in law Melvin, his cherished wife of 47 yrs, Brenda, and his beloved second daughter Brenda. Born in Moncton, NB, June 29th, 1933. There he spent his childhood playing with his siblings, best friend Junior, attended school, survived the war years when Dad was gone, spent summers at the beach. As he grew older working on cars became his passion and profession. He also enjoyed stock car racing and drove at the local tracks. In 1981, he came to Fort mcmurray to work at Syncrude as an auto and heavy duty mechanic until his retirement in 1993. He will be lovingly remembered by his surviving children Virginia (Tom), Jane (Lee), Ray Jr. (Sheila), his siblings Jim (Bonnie), Colleen, sister in laws Dona and Diane, his 8 grandchildren,many great grandchildren, nephew, nieces and friends. We would like to thank the many Dr's, nurses and HCAs at the Northern Lights Regional Health Center who cared for Ray these past 4 months. Thanks as well to all the caring staff and residents of Fort McMurray Rotary House, and the girls (HCA). Special thanks to Dr.Roberts (family) Vanessa from home care, who helped Ray stay in his home for as long as was possible, it was such a blessing, and Dr.Northcutt for such compassionate care. As per his wishes, no services will be held. For those who so desire, memorial donations can be made to the Salvation Army. Ray wil be Forever loved, always in our hearts
