Obituary of Ernest George Fidder

The family of Ernest George Fidder is sad to announce his passing at the Northern Lights Regional Health Center in Fort McMurray, on August 20, 2022, at the age of 83. Ernest was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to John and Una (Moberly) Fidder. He joined the Air Force as a young man and retired after 20 years of service. He then went on to become an instrument technician, and E/I supervisor at Suncor, where he worked until retirement in 1997. Ernest is survived by his wife of 61 years, Fay; sons John (Jackie), Ernest (Linda), and Kevin (Jackie); daughter Louanne (Gord) Bonokoski. He had 8 grandchildren; Erika (Peter), Meagan (Jeff ) Brett, Mitchell (Tyne), Julia (Nathan), Lauren, Ashley (Evan), and Ernie; as well as 3 great-grandchildren; Natalie, Patrick, and Gwen. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Johannes Van Heerde for many years of exceptional care for Ernest. They would also like to thank Dr. Wilson, Dr. Denga, and the 3rd-floor staff for their kind and compassionate care during Ernest's brief hospitalization. The funeral service will take place on Monday, August 29, 2022, at 11:00 am at the St. Paul's Catholic Church. Luncheon to follow at The Fort McMurray Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Ernest‘s name.
