Obituary of Brian Dennis Stagg

With broken and heavy hearts, the family of Brian Dennis Stagg, 62, announce his sudden passing on February 12, 2023, in Fort McMurray, AB. He was predeceased by his parents, Cyril & Tillie Stagg of Lumsden, NL. Leaving to morn with cherished memories are his three sons; Trevor (Wanda), TJ (Hillary), and Travis (Vicki). His pride and joy – his grandchildren; Gunner, Liam, Quinn, Ellie & Lily. Brothers; Dean (Dena), Jason (Nicole), Sisters; Trudy (Derrick), Denise(Cluney). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who grew up with him being a big part of their lives. He had many friends, and all of they will dearly miss him. Brian was an amazing man who will be remembered for his love of his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting with his boys. He especially looked forward to his Grande Prairie hunting trips, where he and his three boys would go to the fields and hunt geese and ducks. This past year he got his first – and second – deer. He loved his visits to Wandering River, especially once he got his own spot next to one of his best buddies. His grandchildren will remember many rides behind Pop's quad on GTs down there or on the back of the quad with him. There were many darts nights, and a bottle-nothing else would do of beer with his buddies. There weren't many mornings Brian missed getting his "timmies." No other coffee would do. He'd often get up on his days off and go to "timmies" to get his double-double and then park by the snye. If he knew he would see his grandchildren, he would be sure to buy a box of Timbits to give them – no matter the time. They will always remember Pop having 'the best snacks.' He wouldn't often miss out on a day in the woods, especially if there was wood to be cut or a cup of tea by the fire to be had. Anyone who got the opportunity to meet and get to know Brian will know that he would do almost anything for anyone. Brian will be forever remembered, loved and missed dearly by all those who knew him. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 19th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4 PM for family and friends of Brian in Fort McMurray, AB, at Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. #115, 190 MacAlpine Crescent. A funeral service will later take place in Newfoundland at Kittiwake Funeral Home in Pound Cove. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian's memory to The Stagg Family; monetary disbursements will be decided at a later date.
