Obituary of Judy Lynn White

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Lynn White, a compassionate and selfless soul, on June 30, 2023, at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Born on January 14, 1956, she was 67 years old at the time of her passing. Judy's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Judy is survived by her son Keith Hynes and her daughter Katrina Hynes. She was a devoted grandmother to Devon and Jessie Wilcox, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Judy also leaves behind her siblings: Garry, Mona, Bev, Brendan, Scott, Janice, Darryl, Sherri and Sonya White, who will forever hold her memory dear. She was pre-deceased by her parents Pearl and Patrick White; her brother Dermont White and her sister Mary White.

A woman of great strength and resilience, Judy had a heart that overflowed with love and kindness. Despite facing personal hardships, she always found a way to help others, demonstrating her incredible compassion even when she had little to give. Her devotion to her children knew no bounds, and they held a special place in her heart. Furthermore, Judy had a profound affection for dogs, particularly her grand fur babies: Xena and Lakota.

Judy had a big heart and her presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her, and her capacity for love and care touched the lives of many. She had a close bond with her dear friend, Floyd Perrier, who shared countless memorable moments with her.

During her final months, Judy displayed exceptional resilience and willpower, demonstrating a strength that amazed the healthcare professionals who cared for her. The nurses, doctors, nurse aides, and students at the hospital in Fort McMurray, as well as the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, went above and beyond to ensure Judy's comfort and happiness. Their dedication and compassion made a lasting impact on her and her family. The entire staff, including the students embarking on their healthcare journey, became part of Judy's story, and she, in turn, became an inspiration to them. Thank You.

In memory of Judy, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the family itself or to the Terry Fox Foundation. These donations will honour Judy's legacy of selflessness and extend support to causes she held dear. Judy's departure is a profound loss for all who knew her. She will be remembered as a woman with a heart of gold, a fierce love for her family, and an unwavering dedication to helping others. Her spirit and kindess will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have shared in her life's journey.
