Good evening everyone.
Thank you so much for being here today to remember my beautiful sister, mom, aunt, grandmother and true friend, Vicky.
To me, Vicky was born to be free, with a strong will to make things happen.
She will be remembered as a great soul who wanted to help everybody. Her humor, beautiful smile, and the way she carries herself will forever be cherished.
I always admired her beauty and self-confidence.
She had a knack for cleaning, organizing her house, and tending to her garden with perfection. A hard worker, always motivated to keep going.
I fondly recall my childhood, mimicking her as she brushes her teeth, a habit I still continue, especially the prolonged gargling. I also remember she had a unique habit of eating bananas with coffee.
When Vicky left for the Catholic boarding high school, a profound emptiness and sadness engulfed me. Her return brought immense joy, but her departures were marked by feelings of emptiness and sadness. Similar emotions surfaced when my sister got married and moved to Canada. Her visits stirred joy, yet her departures left me feeling empty and sad.
Moving to Canada was a moment of happiness as I could see her again.
Years passed, filled with beautiful memories, but now, a final blow has come. My sister has left, not just to another place but for good, close to God. This departure has left me with an enormous emptiness and sadness that accompanied me throughout her existence.
Vicky left having accomplished her purpose-raising two beautiful and intelligent kids, spreading love for the family tree's continuation.
Although I deeply love my sister, God has other plans for her in the divine world. I envision God placing her in a form of metamorphosis, a cocoon undergoing internal changes, ready to face divine power. As she emerges, she flies away with vibrant, beautiful fire colours to a place where we will all be reunited one day.
Her departure reminds me of the emptiness and pain that previously invaded my soul. I eagerly await the day I can see my sister again. May God bless her soul.
Rest in peace, dear sister. I love you.

The last time my sister came to Colombia she stayed in my apartment for approximately 4 weeks (November 2022), I enjoyed the time I shared with her. I think it was the first time I was able to spend more days with her. I never imagined it would be the last time I would see her. I was glad that she stayed with me. Since my wife passed away I live alone and when a family member visits me it makes my days happier.
I will always remember how she liked to watch the tv show “Cafe con aroma de mujer”, she was very excited when each episode began on television. I sat with her and we watched it together.
Another thing, she didn’t miss her coffee in the mornings!
Even though the distance set us appart a little, I was always very proud of my sister and the courage she had to leave her homeland to build a better future for her family and especially for my brothers.
Rest in peace my dear sister you will be forever in our hearts.

To my dearest, most beautiful Tia, you will be greatly missed. Everyday I remince on the wonderful memories we shared together and the immense joy, and laughter you brought into my life. Your strength, resiliency, and determination to do everything you could do by yourself is a testament to the type of woman you were and is a reflection of the spirit that God gifted you with up until your final days here with us on earth. This quality is something I have always admired about you, and is something that I will always cherish deep within my heart as a source of inspiration when times are rough. Te queiro siempre mi angel. My deepest condolences to my cousins, Anthony, and Laura, to her grandchild Zion, to Glenn, to my father who lost a dear sibling, and to all her family in Colombia who loved her so dearly. We pray that you are in peace alongside God.
