Obituary of Corey William Bennett
Corey William Bennett
July 29, 1976 –December 25, 2023
Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of our beloved and cherished son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend, Corey William Bennett, on December 25, 2023, in Fort McMurray, Alberta, at the age of 47 years.
Leaving to celebrate his life and keep his wonderful memories alive are his loving parents, Bill and Cora; his best buddy & brother Shawn and his wife Sherri; his cherished nephews Cash & Pacey and niece Lily; his mentor and best friend pop Ronald; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Corey had a deep love for family and valued the time they could spend together.
He was an avid sports enthusiast and a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Team. One of his favourite hobbies was collecting and organizing his hundreds of hockey cards. He had a great love for music and would often be heard singing quietly and playing his guitar. Corey was a friend to all, always ready to give a helping hand, a gentle soul with a big heart, the best hugs and a contagious smile.
Corey was predeceased by his grandmother, Olive Bennett, and grandparents Edith and Walter Laing.
With Corey, what you saw, you got. And what you saw was a truly delightful, generous, easy-going, fun-loving human being.
The family of Bill, Cora and Shawn would like to extend their greatest thanks and appreciation to the many family members and friends who supported then in any way at this most difficult time. They would also like to extend many heartfelt thanks to Robert Anderson Funeral Home for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. The Celebration of Life and Christian Burial will take place at the Anglican Church, St. Paul’s, NL, with Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Internment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery.
