I remember in the early years we would spend hours playing racquetball at the High Rise, and many hours playing backgammon at the bar in my trailer in Gregoire. Carl would always stand on a little NFLD stool I had. RIP Carl. Your old buddy Moon.

The loss of Carl, with his boundless humour and spirit, deeply saddens us all. We recall the days of his cheerful presence at Sunday brunches and reminisce about his time working alongside Ben in '79. His absence will be profoundly felt. May God's grace surround you, Judy, in these trying times, comforting you as Carl's joyous memory lives on in our hearts.

Judy and family, my deepest condolences to you guys for the loss of Carl. It was only a couple of years ago we sat and had a laugh on the deck of his father’s home while you guys were on vacation from Alberta. We were only able to hook up on occasion due to life commitments but when we did there was always an old story and a good chuckle. I will always remember Carls laugh it was something he loved to do and very infectious. Stay strong and keep the memories dear, he will never be forgotten. RIP Carl.

Carl and I were childhood friends. We experienced a lot of fishing, rowing and camping together. He taught me to dance, LOL! He was always very energetic, active, and interested in life. Though I haven't been in touch with him since we were teenagers; I'm sure this carried through with him as an adult. I remember him having a very infectious attitude about getting things done which had a great influence on me and I suspect others who have been close to him throughout his life. My condolences go out to those loved ones he left behind; I'm sure you miss him sorely.

I'll always remember Carl's nice smile and great personality.
Over the year's when someone mentioned Judy attached to that was always Carl.
Judy, seems like I'm lost for words but I have been thinking about you and your family so much since hearing this yesterday, because I know how close you were and all the wonderful things that you and Carl wrapped in a day when you came home on holidays.
Take care of one another .He will be kept pretty busy in the next little while catching up with Aunt Bride she dearly loved him.
Hugs to all your family.

Carl has been a part of our family for so long since you brought him to our home in Freshwater many years ago . There are so many memories that are suddenly surfacing and I will treasure forever. Last year when we visited I remember how he laughed so hard when Annette was showing Shauna how to bake bread.. ( I have the evidence)
Although we can’t be with you at this time we are remembering all the stories , hikes and good times we shared and will always keep him our heart. Love to you all

The words are hard to find to describe one of the most wonderful men I had the privilege of knowing. I have so many wonderful memories of Carl through the years during my visits to Alberta and their trips back home. I’ll remember you with only the fondest of memories and the very special bond that was so clear to see between you and Shauna. I’ll treasure our last visit with all my heart and thankful you were well to have some laughs with. He indeed was one of the good ones. Love to you all.

Judy, Shauna, Gary, Leon, Robert, Maxine, Lorraine and Cindy I'm so sorry to hear of Carl's passing... my deepest condolences to you all.
From what I've read in his obituary he never strayed from his passion of hunting, fishing and spending time at his log cabin. He and I spent many nights at their family cabin out on Colinet Road partridge/duck hunting and fishing. When we weren't at the cabin we'd be on the base in Argentia chasing the American girls when we were single young fellas and then he met and fell in love with Judy and their relationship flourished and lasted all these years. Carl was a great and trusted friend and a great loss, especially to his family.
Sincere condolences

On behalf of myself and Nicky , I want to send sincere and heartfelt condolences to Judy,Shauna, Ernest, Caeden and Reilly.
Since the first time we shook hands I have always felt a friendship that some never find. Over the years, my visits made that bond even stronger. Over a beer or a drink we could share stories and memories of days long gone bye and have even greater laughs as the time passed. His love and passion for family was ever so clear, as his stories were told. Sitting in his garage, he would look at the house across the street and say “ over there, that’s what it’s all about”.
He was a fighter till the end, a friend and a mentor to many. His like, will be hard find again. I’m sure, as he entered his heavenly home, he was welcomed with open arms, smiling faces and many friends.
Rest in Peace my friend.

Judy, Shauna, Ernest, Caiden, Riley and all the Chubbs’ family-This is one of the hardest condolences we ever had to write. Carl Chubbs was one of the kindest, funniest and special human being that we had the joy and privilege of calling our friend. Our times together were always a wonderful memory- and there were many! Whether it was growing up across the street from each other or standing by their side at that little church on their wedding day. They were all good times.
While raising our children together we had many family adventures, ones that Carl always made funny. From every trip there was usually a “catch phrase” that came from it… lol. So many happy times.
We wish we could be there on Sunday with you guys but we will be there in spirit - toasting him! Big hugs to all! We loved him so much!
