Obituary of Michelle MacInnis

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michelle MacInnis at the age of just 56 years, on February 26th, 2024. Michelle passed in Fort McMurray Alberta, a place she took pride in calling home and where she has lived happily for nearly 13 years. 

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Trent Rattray; daughter, Jessica King (Riley); sons, Joshua and Brodi (Karen); and grandchildren, Luka and Vera MacInnis, as well as by her many family members and friends. 

Her life was beautifully and courageously lived. It's hard to describe everything wonderful that Michelle embodied: strong, courageous, fun, sassy, loving. She had a zest for life, trying new things, running marathons, cycling, skydiving, and traveling just to name a few.  Her most defining achievements however were being a wonderful wife, great mother, loving grandmother, fantastic dog mom and a fiercely loyal friend. 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the entire Fort McMurray Palliative Care team, as well as the entire staff of the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. We are forever grateful for the wonderful care and support that Michelle and her family received.

There will be a celebration of life taking place at Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. (190 Macalpine Crescent #115) in Fort McMurray on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Between the hours of 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 pm.

Everyone is welcome to stop by for light refreshments and conversation while we take some time to remember the joy Michelle brought to our lives and, be grateful for the time we shared with her.
