Obituary of Frank Flynn
Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Flynn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother.
Frank leaves to mourn his wife, Maude, of 49 years, his sons Colin(Kari), Corey(Amanda), grandsons Michael and Oliver, mother Anita, his brothers Roland(Maude),Eugene(Paula) and Terry(Paula), aunts(Nell and Eileen), numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, sisters/brothers-in-law and good friends. Frank is predeceased by his son, Michael, his parents Rose and Mike Flynn, Uncle Cyril and Aunt Anne. Frank spent the bulk of his career as an iron worker at Syncrude. He retired in 2008 and didn’t look back. Frank was always willing to help family and friends with household projects, car problems, building garages, decks, fences and over the years making numerous trips back and forth to the airport. Frank enjoyed the outdoors, spending time fishing in the summer, hunting in the fall and sledding in the winter. Frank was willing to give free advice, whether you asked for it or not. He was adept at turning the conversation away from himself and unto the other person with his favourite phrase, “you know what”. He was such a great listener that he earned the title “Counsellor”. Frank made many close friendships over the years and will be deeply missed by all.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St John the Baptist Parish, 3 Hospital St, Fort McMurray, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sports for Kids, in Frank’s name.
