Obituary of Wendy Lorraine Walsh
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Lorraine Walsh on September 4th, 2024, at the age of 44 years after a brave fight with cancer. She passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her partner, Sheldon Pinksen.
Wendy was born on November 18th, 1979, in St. John’s, NL. She grew up with a large loving family in Mitchell’s Brook, Salmonier. Wendy eventually had a beautiful daughter, Courtney, who she loved beyond measure. She met Sheldon later in life, and they enjoyed many simple days together with their dogs, or being surrounded by friends dancing at their local bar and socializing in the garage.
Wendy was a private and quiet person, but also witty and fun. She had a unique ability to walk into a room full of strangers and leave having made at least one more friend. She was fearless and independent, yet a sensitive soul, strong-willed and determined; all these traits served her well during her fight with cancer. Her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with all life’s challenges.
Our hearts are broken, but we know that Wendy, who showed such incredible strength and compassion, is now at peace, free from the pain of cancer. Our love for her will always live on.
Waiting for Wendy at heaven's door are those who she lovingly called mom and dad, Bill and Florence Walsh. She is also predeceased by Courtney’s father, John Parrot.
Leaving to mourn her loss is her beloved daughter, Courtney Parrot (Chance) and her loving parents, Debbie (nee Walsh) and Larry Green; her partner, Sheldon Pinksen and his 2 children: James and Helen as well as her in-laws, Shiela (nee Gillingham) and Steward Pinksen.
Forever loved by her family, Michelle (Kevin), Barbara (Gary), Martin, Susan (John), Sonny (Michelle), and her many cousins, nieces, nephews and members of the Grace family.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to help fund Courtney's post-secondary education. A trust has been established and donations can be sent to inwendysmemory@gmail.com Those who prefer, can also donate to the Mount Carmel Cemetery Upkeep Fund at mtcarmelcemetery@outlook.com
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire medical team with the Community Cancer Centre at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. A Life Well Lived
Life well lived is a precious gift
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place
It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful hearts will treasure

Those Sunny Days
There were times out in the valley
Things to unfold
We never got to do them
Our life was simply told
Now I think of our good-times
The things that we saw
You never did nothing
you hadn’t seen before
Then you ran out of the shadows
You ran into the rain
You told them all keep trying
I’ll take you once again
Now you lay in the valley
Peace forever more
I’ll see you soon my love
On the next shore
Just wait for me, I can’t come soon
There’re kids to be raised
But I’ll see you soon my love
On those sunny days.
