Obituary of Janet Fizzell

It is with immeasurable sadness and grief that I must announce the passing of my mother, Janet Lorene Fizzell (nee Mattern) in Fort McMurray, Alberta, on September 3^rd, 2024, at the age of 68 years.

Janet was born in Ponoka, Alberta to Mervin and Anne Mattern (nee Blanchette) on January 6^th, 1956.  She spent her career working as a social worker, trying to improve the lives of others.

She is survived by her Children: Ryan (Darlene) and Eric (Paige) Fizzell; Mother, Anne Mattern (nee Blanchette); Siblings: Ken Mattern (Jan) and Sandy Mattern; Grandchildren: Riley, Aimee, Errol, Sybil and Cormac Fizzell.  Janet was predeceased by her Father, Mervin Mattern.
