Obituary of PAUL ASIBA KWESI JOHNSON

PAUL ASIBA KWESI JOHNSON October 7, 1947 - September 14, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of Paul A.K. Johnson announce his passing on September 14, 2018, at the age of 70, after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Paul will be forever remembered and missed by his wife, Florence, and his children, Nada, David, Beni, Juliette and Esi. He will also be fondly remembered by his many siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Born in Kumasi, Ghana, Paul was artistically inclined with passions ranging from painting to photography, ball room dancing and always dressing well. He went from teaching at ATTC (ACCRA TECHNICAL TRAINING CENTRE) in the country's capital to furthering his education in Canada. After returning to fulfill his national service, he immigrated to Canada in 1983 to pursue a long and successful career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Syncrude making Fort McMurray, Alberta his home.

Paul had a deep passion for Christ and loved to explore his spirituality. In his youth, he was an alter boy who even had brief dreams of entering priesthood. Paul lived a full and happy life, looking out for the happiness of others and willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. He impacted the lives of many and will be forever remembered for his spontaneity, friendliness and caring nature.

The viewing will be held at 10:00am and the Funeral Mass will be held in celebration of Paul at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 484 Signal Road, Fort McMurray, AB. The Johnson Family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at NLRHC for their care and support, as well as those who prayed or sent their condolences during this difficult time.
