Obituary of Leon Molloy
Leon Molloy
August 28, 1979-November 19, 2023
It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leon Molloy,
aged 44 years who entered into eternal rest surrounded by love on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at
the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Leon leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend, Janice; his two beautiful children, whom he
adored, Lilah and Charlotte; his parents, Leonard and Vonnie; brother, Bradley (Leiah); sister,
Kayla (Andrew); nephews, Gavin and Zachary; parents-in law, Gerard and Doreen Hayward;
sister-in-law, Glenda (Shawn); brother-in-law, Mark (Kari); his Godchild, Daxton; and a large
circle of friends and family especially Shane, David, Shawn, Mark and all his treasured Sharks
RV camping friends.
Leon taught us all so much by just being who he was. Leon lived a life filled with courage, joy
and love. Despite facing a challenging battle with a brain tumor, Leon embraced each moment
with an unwavering spirit and zest for life.
Leon loved the outdoors, adventures on his side by side and spending time at his camper was his
absolute passion. He cherished every moment he spent making memories with his family and
friends. Leon had a remarkable ability to bring laughter to others with his witty and funny
personality. His contagious smile and jokes made him a cherished friend to so many people.
Throughout his journey, Leon formed deep connections with the medical professionals who
cared for him. The nurses and doctors were not only in awe of his resilience but also held him in
high regard due to his kind hearted nature.
There is no doubt his greatest accomplishment was his family. The love for “his girls” was
indescribable as Leon took such great pride in taking care of Janice, Lilah and Charlotte as they
were his entire world.
Leon’s story is a great reminder of the strength and positivity that can be found in the face of
adversity. He was a beacon of hope and inspiration to so many people. Lilah and Charlotte will
always know the determination and joy that their dad exemplified.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in his hometown, St. Mary’s
Newfoundland.
Until we meet again, Leon.
