Obituary of Kritsana Naowakhun
Kritsana Naowakhun was a loving husband, father, brother, son, friend, and teacher. With no prior warning, Na passed away on Wednesday, August 21st, due to heart disease at his residence in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. Kritsana, also known as "Krishna," was a multicultural individual of Chinese and Thai heritage with a strong faith in Thai Buddhism, Hinduism, and Chinese cultural beliefs.
Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, Kritsana had always been a creative person, engaged in creating art, playing guitar, and cooking. He was a talented musician and artist, studying Fine Art at Silpakorn University in Thailand. Kritsana's creative mind led him to careers in television and film, as well as couture fashion in Thailand. Since arriving in Canada in 2011, Kritsana dedicated himself full-time to pursuing his dreams of creating and inspiring others through visual art. He was well-known and loved throughout the Fort McMurray region for his artistry, art mentorship, teaching, volunteerism, and charity work.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Kritsana “Lim” Naowakhun (née Puangpikul), and two younger sisters, Nareerat “Jah” Naowakhun and Kamonrat “Mod” Naowakhun. He is also survived by his wife, Heather Ann (née Hurtubise), and two children, Jasmine and Manon. His in-law family, Keith and Catherine Hurtubise (née Houston), Leah Hurtubise and Dave Essig, Alex Hurtubise and Rae Dallard, and Elaine Hurtubise (née Rowlandson) are also deeply saddened by the recent loss of their son, brother, and grandson. Kritsana has many family members, friends, and colleagues in Canada and Thailand. He was a lifeforce of humor, talent, stories, and love.
