Obituary of Bert Frank Golosky

Bert Frank Golosky, 86, of Fort McMurray, Alberta, passed away on June 14, 2019 in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Bert worked on the waterfront for Northern Transportation Company Limited (NTCL) for 30 years; ultimately ending his career with them as Shipyard Foreman. Bert was responsible for the transfer of the vessels to the Mackenzie River when NTCL ended its service in Fort McMurray. To complete his years of employment, he worked for CMI rentals.

Bert married Jeanne Durieux in 1958 and together they raised 6 daughters on the Prairie. The family members were active participants in the St John’s Catholic parish. Bert had a firm faith; the rosary was his special devotion. He enjoyed being in the woods and on the river. Family times were often spent in the outdoors.

Bert Frank Golosky was born at his home in Fort McMurray, Alberta on July 14, 1932. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne and his daughters: Charmaine Wallace (Joe); Kathleen Golosky; Janet Cadieux; Patricia Thomson (Doug); Julia Golosky-Olmsted (Tony); and Alison Golosky (Darren Radtke). Surviving grandchildren are: Joseph, Ashton, Hayley Wallace; Jillian, Olivia (Jeff), Ethan Brooks; Alison Claire, David Cadieux; Sydney, Athena Henderson; and Samuel Olmsted.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Agnes (Biggs) Golosky; brothers William, Walter, George, Jack, and James; sisters Mary Bey and Dora Dussault; infant siblings – Douglas, Robert, and Edna; and granddaughter, baby Ashley Wallace.

Funeral service will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on June 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Father Andrew of St John’s Catholic Church officiating. Prayers will be held at St John’s Catholic Church on June 20, 2019 at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Palliative Care at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre would be appreciated.
