Obituary of Douglas John Pike

Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden, and unexpected passing of their beloved Douglas (Doug) John Pike, at the age of only 61 years, on November 3rd, 2024, at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, AB.

Douglas’s heart belonged solely to his family. His amazing wife, Lesa, of 39 years; he couldn’t imagine being anywhere without her by his side. His son Justin, who brought him immense pride and happiness.

Leaving to mourn with deep love and cherished memories, Douglas is survived by his wife, Lesa; his adored son, Justin (Heather); and his two-year-old granddaughter, Everly. He also leaves behind his father with his partner Gerald (Gerry) Pike and Myrtle Byrne; his sisters: Geraldine (Gerri) and Carl Gattinger, Marlene (Clarence) Flynn and Tracy (Todd) Reid; his brother, Robert (Pamela) Pike; Mother-in-law, Geraldine (Gerri) Webb; sisters-in-law: Donna (Mark) Webb and Maxine (Graham) Webb; brothers-in-law: Brad (Kim) Webb and Robert (Sherry) Webb; in addition to a vast network of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a numerous amount of friends and coworkers.

Douglas was pre-deceased in death by his mother, Rowena Pike, and his father-in-law, Robert Webb.

Douglas was a beacon of joy, effortlessly making friends whom he cherished as family. His warm personality and sociable nature endeared him to everyone he met. Whatever he set his sights on, he pursued with unwavering dedication.

As a passionate poker player, he enjoyed weekly games with close friends, who would undoubtedly attest to his skills; and his love for motorcycles allowed him to embrace the thrill of the open road.

For the past decade, Douglas dedicated himself to working at Culligan Water, viewing his colleagues as family rather than mere co-workers; sharing laughter and stories, especially about his beloved little granddaughter, Everly, who he adored immensely. Always ready to lend a helping hand and go out of his way to help anyone in need, Douglas will be forever missed and always loved.

As per his family’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a service is to be held and live streamed through Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc.
