Obituary of Reverend Carl Wilfred Stratton
Surrounded by the love of his family, Reverend Carl W. Stratton passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Northern Lights Health Centre, Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his wife of 60 years, Clarice (nee Winsor); children Barry, Janice Stratton-Giles and Lyndon (Lori); eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a large extended family and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents and nine siblings.
Carl was born in Valleyfield, NL April 17, 1932 and spent his young formative years in Corner Brook, NL.
He entered pastoral ministry in 1957 and he and Clarice were married August 14, 1958. They served numerous churches and Christian ministries in eastern Canada. A notable contribution to community life was made when Carl served as the Director of Open Arms Mission; an inner city ministry located in Welland, ON.
Carl had a tremendous sense of humour and a gregarious nature. He will be remembered as a loving family man, devoted minister and a kind and generous friend.

Visitation 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018 and Funeral Service 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 both at Family Christian Centre, 160 Dickins Drive, Fort McMurray, AB.
